Creative Solutions for Financial Constraints and Student Employee Recruitment

The CLASS (California Library Access Services South) Leadership & Planning Team is hosting a free, spark session to be held virtually on October 29, 2025 from 10:00AM - 12:00PM. 

 

Centered around student employees and library financial constraints, this event will bring together access services employees from wide-ranging academic libraries to meet, network, learn, and share experiences and perspectives with one another. This event will include 2 lightning talk sessions exploring strategies for student employee recruitment and budgeting in libraries. 

 

The first topic will focus on adapting organizational practices to financial constraints and the evolving roles of student employees and staff working in access services. The second topic will focus on student employee recruitment and the broader impact of student workers on library operations and student success.

The CLASS Leadership Team is seeking lightning talk panelists for our two sessions. If you are interested in participating as a panelist for one or both topics, please submit your interest by Friday, September 26th, 2025. ​​​​​​​​​​
